Boxer mix Roxy was surrendered to the shelter after an incident of resource guarding over food with another dog in the home. She was sequestered in the back of the shelter throughout her entire holding period and given no networking at all leading up to her deadline. Thanks to a dedicated shelter volunteer, Roxy was frantically networked on her last day, and made it out alive in the nick of time.
Roxy actually does well with other dogs, and sadly just wasn’t given a chance when she behaved like a dog. She is currently fostered with another female dog without issue and is doing great! The right adopter for this sweet girl will take the potential for resource guarding with the level of seriousness that it deserves; Roxy really is wonderful, and just needs proper management and a little training to build out her confidence and truly shine!
