Our adoption process includes an online application, meet and greet between the rescue dog and your human family members, animal introductions with any furry family members, and a home check. We put a lot of time and effort into our application process to ensure that each of our rescue dogs finds the best possible match for them. Please be as thorough as possible in your application responses – the more information we have about your family and what you’re looking for in a new buddy, the easier the process will be! While we are not here to judge anyone’s lifestyle, we do conduct a home check before finalizing every adoption to ensure that the home and backyard are safe. To expedite the application process, please attach a copy of the Declaration page of your Homeowner’s Insurance policy, or if you rent, an approval letter from your landlord – this helps us work with you to ensure that the breed you are looking for is covered/accepted by your landlord or insurance provider.
Adoption Fee Information:
-Puppies (<1 year of age) – $375
-Adult Dogs (>1 year of age) – $275
$100 of the adoption fee for any dog/puppy will be refunded if proof of participation in a training course/class with an approved trainer is provided within 60 days of adoption.
Please note: Adoption fees help defray SacRDR’s expenses for food, supplies, sheltering, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and veterinary care. All dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (for dogs over 8 months), dewormed, and current on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention prior to adoption.
